In ceremonies held in November in Chicago, American President, Larry Zavadil was presented the 2005 George Randazzo Founder’s Award from the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame (NIASHF). The award is given to individuals who display uncommon and unwavering long-term support for the Hall of Fame’s cause and programs.
Larry has been a member of the Hall’s Leadership Committee since 2003 and has led numerous scholarship efforts. He partnered with the Hall and the National Italian American Foundation (www.niaf.org) to award several scholarships to Concordia College’s Italian Summer Language Village. This Minnesota based camp gives junior high and high school students the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in the language and culture of Italy, as well as other countries. In 2003 he instituted a “Transfer of Purchase” program with the NIASHF, giving clients of American Solutions for Business a unique opportunity to support the NIASHF. Earlier this year, Larry was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, presented to Americans of diverse origins to honor their outstanding contributions to their own ethnic groups and to American society.
