ASB Holds 'EXTREME' Conference
Two aerial artists from Xelias Aerial Performance Company of Minneapolis presented an EXTREME dance routine on ropes suspended from high above the ballroom at the Minneapolis Hilton. The act proved to be the perfect EXTREME kick-off for the 2007 winter conference.
Minneapolis, MN – March 9, 2007 – American Solutions for Business held it’s National Sales Conference, February 28 to March 4, 2007 at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The theme for the week was “Extreme American” with emphasis placed on one-to-one personalization, print-on-demand, and viral and video marketing. Despite an extreme winter storm on Thursday and Friday that cancelled 400 flights at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, over 400 sales associates attended and took part in daily seminars and workshops lead by industry leaders, vendor partners and ASB personnel. More than 200 vendors attended the trade show held Saturday.
Guest speaker was David Fellman, president of David Fellman & Associates, a sales and marketing consulting firm from Cary, North Carolina. Extreme events included a live performance by professional aerialists who executed stunts on ropes suspended from the ceiling of the ballroom. American Sales Associate, Dennis Lindblad, shared a story of his extreme comeback after suffering a near fatal brain hemorrhage in 2005 that left him with limited speech and mobility. Richard Ward of Rivers End Trading Company, an ASB vendor partner, was on hand on Thursday to present information regarding his company’s extreme make over including a new name, new ownership and management, a new culture and a new IT system.
A business meeting was part of the agenda on Friday during which, Craig McLain, COO, updated employee-owners as to the growth American has seen in the past year. The company now has 560 sales associates throughout the country, 158 indirect staff members in remote locations and 210 employees at the corporate office in Glenwood, Minnesota. Although exact ESOP share value has yet to be released, it is projected to rise for the sixth consecutive year.
